Significance of Temperature Regulation in Vaccine Supply Chain
Vaccine are the biological product. It may get damaged due to temperature excursion & becomes ineffective to fight against the disease. Maintaining correct temperature during storage & transportation of vaccine is extremely crucial. The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends that vaccines should be stored & transported between +2°C and +8°C throughout its journey right from shipping the vaccine from the manufacturer until it is consumed by end user.
The traditional method of physically noting down the reading by shipping inspector is time consuming. This raise doubt about temperature monitoring efficiency & potency of vaccine. Involving high chance of human error. Our user friendly, compact & reliable WHO PQS Pre qualified Irreversible Freeze Indicator for continuous temperature monitoring is a solution. This gives assurance about potency of vaccine.
Complying with WHO PQS Norms
The World Health Organization has clearly defined the guideline for performance quality & safety (PQS) particularly in the context of the devices used for vaccine storage and transportation. G-Tek LM Pro IN031 abides with the WHO PQS guideline & is certified under WHO PQS E006/IN03.1
Product Detail
There are three models to choose from- Type A, Type B, Type C, based on the requirement of temperature and trigger time.
Freeze Indicator | Type A (orange) | Type B (Yellow) | Type C (Green) |
Alarm Limits | <=0 °C | <=0 °C | <= -0.5 °C |
Alarm trigger time | 10 minutes | 60 minutes | 60 minutes |
All the parameters and alarm limits are pre-configured as per the requirement. The “ü” indicates that the temperature of shipment has remained above alarm limit temperature. The “X” indicates that the temperature has fallen below alarm limit for more than alarm trigger time delay. Once the indicator represents “X” it cannot be change as it is irreversible. A flashing “l” in right side of the display indicates that the device is working.
In Summary the irreversible freeze indicator is a single alarm electronic temperature indicator recommended by WHO are pivotal in upholding the quality and efficacy of vaccines. By ensuring that vaccines are stored and transported within the appropriate temperature range, these devices contribute to the success of immunization programs and the protection of public health.
